To help us serve you and your clients better we have created this list of recommendations to help them prepare their home for the shoot.

Outdoors

Mow the lawn 1 to 2 days prior (Seasonal)

Trim overgrown bushes

Remove unsightly items from the yard including security signs

Lay down fresh pine straw / mulch (if needed)

Blow off leaves the morning of (Seasonal)

Move trash cans into garage (if applicable)

Have cars parked in garage or down the street the day of

Close garage doors

Inside

Declutter, Declutter, Declutter and Clean thoroughly

Open all blinds in the house

Turn on all lights in house

Replace all burned out light bulbs with either all incandescent or all fluorescent in the same color temp. Don’t mix lighting temps.

Turn off all ceiling fans, tvs and computers

Dust furniture, ceiling fans, and base boards

Vacuum / mop floors / clean windows

Kitchen

Only 1 small appliance on countertop max

Clear countertops completely

Hide trashcan in pantry and close door

Appliance surfaces should be clean and clear. (No photos, calendars hanging on the refrigerator)

Remove dishes from sink into dishwasher

Bathrooms

Remove all personal items such as toothbrushes, curling irons, lotions, soaps, medications, etc. from your bathroom counters

Remove all personal items from the bathtub / shower areas.

Close all toilet seats

Remove floor mats

Close closet doors

Remove dirty towels and replace with new, unused towels

Hide trash, plunger, or toilet cleaning brushes

Bedrooms

Make beds and remove any items underneath that can be seen

All table and nightstand surfaces should be free of personal items

Remove family photos

Guest / Kids rooms

Hide diaper genies in closet

Remove posters and stickers

Remove personal names on walls

Misc.

Pet related items should be hidden from view as well as pets
